In 1975 our Sisterhood was formed

At Kean University in Union, NJ

By our 17 Founding Mothers

LTA was established as an academic sorority,

To serve as a strong support group for

Latina women in higher education

​

Although our Roots are Latin,

we are a Non-Exclusionary Sorority

Open to ALL Ethnicities and Backgrounds

 Latin by Tradition, Not by Definition

Purpose

The purpose of Lambda Theta Alpha shall be to provide a sisterhood based on unity, love and respect. To foster strong leaders via personal and professional development.

 

Together we are committed to working towards the advancements of marginalized communities, through activism, volunteering, fundraising, raising social and political awareness, as well as hosting charitable and educational programs.
